About Rudy
Rudy Bermudez is the Only Candidate Who Has Stood Before the Board of Equalization to Fight for Taxpayers
Rudy Bermudez is a lifelong public servant, taxpayer advocate, and experienced leader who understands how government works—and how it must work for the people.
Rudy proudly represented the 56th District in the California State Assembly, where he served as Chair of the Assembly Revenue & Taxation Committee. In that role, he led oversight of California’s tax laws, property tax policy, and taxpayer protections. He worked to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in one of the most complex tax systems in the country.
He also served as Vice Chair of the California Board of Accountancy, helping oversee financial and professional standards that protect the public.
But Rudy’s commitment to taxpayers goes beyond holding office.
He is the only candidate in this race who has personally testified before the California Board of Equalization to advocate on behalf of taxpayers.
Before seeking this office, Rudy stood before the California Board of Equalization not as a politician—but as an advocate. He has seen firsthand how decisions made by the Board impact families, small businesses, and property owners. He understands the appeals process, the challenges taxpayers face, and the importance of ensuring that every Californian receives fair treatment under the law.
That experience gives Rudy something no other candidate can claim:
He has stood fighting for taxpayers—and now he is ready to serve them.
